Changes in my period by decade

We all know that the period has some unpleasant sides.

It can come earlier or be delayed causing us worry, to feel cramps during it or unbearable pain. These transitions remain until menopause.

But how do period symptoms change by decade?

At 20…

Unlike puberty, the period shows some signs of stabilization as there is also the corresponding regulation of ovulation. With regular ovulation there is also a frequency in the period but at the same time the strong signs of it make their appearance such as breast sensitivity, cramps and changes in our mood.

At 30…

The period doesn’t present unpleasant surprises since the cycle has stabilized. But, a visit to the gynecologist is necessary if we see any major change such as non-stop flow or more intense cramps.

This decade is often associated with childbirth and most of us notice that our period takes a long time to return. Some women claim that their period during breastfeeding is less painful as the flow is more normal as the uterus does not have strong contractions.

At 40…

We enter the phase of menopause. Along with the change in our body and hormonal fluctuations, the period will also be less regular resulting in irregularity in the cycle, heavier flow and spotting of blood. These changes don’t necessarily mean we can’t get pregnant.Menopause begins when one year has passed since the period stopped.

Changes at any age provide valuable information about our general state of health, warning us of more serious problems and acting as a biological calendar that we must listen to carefully.
